John Harrison is Concertmaster of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra (WSO), Electrical and Computer Engineer at PWI Inc, Lecturer at Wichita State University's College of Engineering, and a founder of Hack.Art.Lab.
Previously he was Director of WSU's Center for Research in Arts, Technology, Education, and Learning (CRATEL) and Tenured Associate Professor of Violin at Wichita State University's School of Music.
John founded CRATEL and co-founded HAL after returning from a graduate research position at Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Laboratory.
As a researcher in Barry Vercoe's Music, Mind, and Machine group, John explored how machines and people perceive sound and music, and how technology may transform our experience with music.
